Ministry
Praise the Lord we have arrived in Belgium safely and after two weeks we have already seen enough to write multiple letters. We have had some great opportunities in street ministry, including opportunities to witness one on one with a number of people. One of the more unique occasions we have had was the Saturday before Easter, when the Sikh religious group here in Gent were having a festival and parade in the streets. While we were out giving tracts and preaching the parade actually came right by us and I had the opportunity to preach to the Sikhs as well as a number of others who were just there for the parade, many stopping to listen to the message and several coming afterwards in order to ask questions and let us witness to them. We also had our dear friend Stan Kamps to come from the Nehterlands, where he pastors in Almere, and help us give tracts and preach on the streets. So far we have not located a building yet, but have been holding a Sunday service in our apartment. It has been a blessing to be here with the people we had been preaching to through Skype and hold services face to face with them; but that group alone is enough to fill up the apartment, so we are in need of something larger and more suitable for a church. We have spent almost every day since we arrived looking at properties and speaking with different individuals about our options. Please be in prayer for us to find the building God wants for the ministry, this is our most pressing need.
Personal
I can say again praise the Lord, we have received the news this morning that Lory’s green card has been approved and your multitude of prayers have been answered. I know churches across the world were praying for us to receive it without having to return to the States for an interview; how exciting is it to say that God not only hears but answers prayers. As always with the government, paperwork never ends and so we are still in the process of my visa and now have to maintain Lory’s green card, but the hard part is over for her. We received good news concerning my visa as well and I am now applying for a marital visa, here in Belgium, and not a religious visa. This change will make it easier for me and allow me more benefits, the greatest being that I will not likely have to leave the country to renew my visa, as is common for most missionaries. Along with looking for a building for the church we are also looking for a house or apartment to rent, we are hoping to find a property where we can do both, in order to save in cost. Once we have settled here I will look into getting an American phone number, possibly even maintaining my old one, but until then the best way to contact us is through the email address listed to the side: juniorhaley@mwbm.org.
Prayer
Pray for the street ministry here, that people would continue to be receptive.
Pray for the remainder of our needed support to come.
Pray for God to supply a property for the church and for us to live.
Pray for my visa for Belgium to go smoothly.
Pray for the group of believers that I preach to both in Belgium and in Romania, that God would bless them and help with some housing and work related needs they have
Pray for a dear friend back in the states whose twin daughters were born premature and the health needs concerned there.
Pray for the shipping container, for God to provide in this cause.
Pray most of all for the work we do here in establishing a church, that God’s hand and anointing would be on us and that He would be glorified.
Thank you all for your faithful prayers for us, you are a much needed part of this ministry and will never know how much of a blessing you are to us; at least not on this side of eternity.
With sincere gratitude,
The Haleys
